Random thought dump. Produced 3 concepts for comics or cartoons using my 3 favourite non super genres, space adventure thing, rock n’ roll comedy epic (that may fold into another project on the horizon) and Barbarian, though i might make that into a comedy too. I really wanna do comedy film shorts…

Basically I just need to pull my shit together and get stuff done

and also cut back on having double red bull and coffee in evenings..

Is it just me or did the Inertia punishment in All Flash 1 seem just too sadistic for Wally, not unlike what the Doctor did to the Family at the end of human nature, which also smacked of taking things too far. Personally I’d have expected Wally to sap Intertia’s speed to make him normal, then send him to jail. Though the Karl Kerschel pages where wonderful, can we get him drawing Flash every month DC? Please? Pretty please?

Oh and I’m so looking forward to the next issue, with Wally’s family working as a team not unlike the incredibles.

DVDs wise, I bought the Space Ghost and Birdman collections this week, two fantastic sets with all those lovely early HB toons. Space Ghost was particularly great due to the wonderful 90 minute(!) Alex Toth documentary on his life and work, with such comics and animation luminaries as Paul Pope and Bruce Timm and also the Toth family.
It’s an engaging well-balanced look into the amazing and sometimes tragic life of one of the greatest men who ever working in comics and animation. I highly emplore anyone with an interest in these fields to see this dvd out, it’s a gem.

First pic of Laura Vandervoort as Superman’s cousin is up and well I can kinda see where they’re going, making it similar to the current Supergirl costume. It’s a bit all over the place too, the colours are pure gap, but the wrist cuff is supposed to say “I’m bad” or something. The last time I checked DC Comics were busy doubling back on the bad-girl aspects of the current Supergirl incarnation.

Oh well, I’ll just have to wait and see how she’s portrayed, I really hope they don’t bother with the usual smallville every character was bad before Clark met them schtick (see Aquaman, Flash, Green Arrow, Perry White, Lucy Lane) and place Supergirl in more of a complimentary role to Clark than an antagonistic one or at least resolve those elements quickly.

The one major rule I have in both flash and html design is, do not resize my window with javascript ever.

If my window is not full screen or has task or status bar, it’s probably like that for a reason, it’s my browser, not yours. It’s impolite, your website is a guest in my computer, so don’t make a mess of it!
