Anime Be Crazy

April 1 2007

…dodgy title joke, but it was stuck in my head.

Anyhoo, so I’ve had this problem with anime, there’s lots of fantastic series out there, but the expense is crazy. Your average anime tends to run for 6 volumes, with each disk costing around £19.99, so that’s an investment of around £120 for one series and I’m not even going to go into never ending shows like Naruto and Full Metal Alchemist!

So what’s the solution for me? Downloading is one, but I lose track of anime after a while online, especially if the seeding is rubbish. So I thought about it and decided to go for lovefilm a British online dvd rental service. Using the backlog of Neo Magazine issues I have, I’ve created an 89 title list of anime I’ve yet to see and anime I’ve stopped watching after one or two volumes due to lack of funds. The beauty is at £8.99 I’m already saving cash, especially as I don’t tend to watch an anime volume more than once.

Finally it seems I can read neo magazine and not have to choose what cool anime I can afford to watch, I can choose em all. Awesome.

Here’s my anime listings for everything I’ve marked on lovefilm, I’d be happy to get opinions from anyone about what titles should be on there.
