So according to the folks over at kryptonsite, smallville has two cast additions on the way, Jimmy Olsen, played by Aaron Ashmore and Green Arrow played by that dude who was almost Aquaman.
Interesting sidenote about Aaron Ashmore is that he’s Shaun Ashmore of X-men fame’s identical twin. Shaun was on smallville twice and at one point rumoured for the role of Jimmy in superman returns.
The Green Arrow appearance is for the 6th season story arc that features the beginnings of the JLA with no doubt more heroes on the way.
My thinking on this is that Smallville may have run out of ideas, what was originally the hidden years of Clark Kent, now seems to be using superman stories with gusto.
The addition of Lois Lane, Jimmy, the Daily Planet, Brainiac, Zod and various dc superheroes makes me wonder if the producers got bored of the show and wish they were doing superman. The main problem is the show doesn’t mesh with superman as the cast know clark before he put on the glasses and persona…I dunno..it just doesn’t work really.
…wait a minute…Lois, Jimmy, Daily Planet, no costume, no flying….this is Jon Peter’s superman all we need is a giant spider!

Okay so I saw this one last night and all I can say is, wow and that spoilers abound.
I’m really impressed with what Singer crafted here, which is essentially a bridge between the movie franchise and the comics. Combining the best of both in one marvelous picture.
Routh was brilliant as Superman, exuding the safety and confidence that Kal-El requires and his Clark Kent just blends into the background perfectly.
Bosworth and Marsden were great, I especially like the lack of going down the path most movies do in a love triangle, here both suitors for Lois are good guys, Richard maybe more so as he flings his mortal life into danger for the sake of his family. Lois saving superman was a nice touch.
Spacey as Luthor…just cool, the scene where he beats supes was brutal, his insanity it perfect here. Plus I loved that he defeated superman with land!
The rest of the cast were well rounded, Parker Posey, a favourite of mine, did a great turn as the best Lex moll yet, Langella and Huntingdon as Perry and Jimmy were spot on. All round bloody brilliant movie folks!

another lovely package from the folks at valleyschwag.com
