Things that make me say Wii

Very video games centric day today.

I’ve been checking out the e3 news about the Nintedo Wii, so far the new Super Smash Bros Brawl game has piqued my interest. It features the usual line up of Nintendo owned characters as well as a certain Konami guest star as pictured above and Pit from Kid Icarus, who I still call Kid Icarus due to that Captain N cartoon. Really psyched about this one!
Also on the Wii is “Virtual Console” while I knew this would include a back catalogue of Nintendo games from the 64 to the Nes, I didn’t realise that Sega and Turbo Grafx games would also be available..

Marvel Ultimate Alliance Preview

Marvel Ultimate Alliance

Marvel Ultimate Alliance – Marvel.com

Well it looks like Marvel is launching a Marvel U wide version of it’s X-Men Legends system, titled “Marvel : Ultimate Alliance”. As is evident from the title and the screen shot, the game is set within marvel’s Ultimate Universe, which to those who don’t follow the comics, is a line of books that feature updated versions of the classic characters.

Having played both X-Men Legends games, I have to say I’m looking forward to this one. I love the ability to either go into the game alone and control a team, flipping between characters depending on what skills you require or to play a multiplayer game on or offline and go on missions.

Graphics wise, it looks pretty good, my only gripe being the raised spider on Spidey’s back, which seems to be there for the sake of having raised graphics. Other characters such as Captain America and Ghost Rider look awesome (could this be confimation to the rumour that GR will join the Ultimates when Jeph Loeb takes over?).

The game is out this autumn for all those lovely next generation consoles, I’ll be getting it for a Wii meethinks.
