Superman International Trailery thing

May 23 2006

Bullet, Eyeball. Eyeball, Bullet

Just about back at 100% after a bout of illness, ears are still all pressured up though.

So we have another trailer for Superman Returns, this one more focused on Superman (the earlier one was very Lex centric) and Lois. The music is sounding really good, I’m assuming this is the soundtrack for the movie that combines William’s score with a new twist.

The hallmark of this one however as the image above shows, is the bullet flattening on Superman’s eyeball. As well as being just plain cool, it’s a nice homage to the “eye-injury” phase of comics in the 50s, one of those lovely things that sold tons of comics in the 50s, until some cats decided that comics were making the kids into commies and banned such images with the comics code.

Still pissed that we brits need to wait 15 days after the US release for this one.

Am I the only one who thinks it’s fucking awesome that Lordi is in the eurovision song contest?

Daily Sketching (he thinks)

May 15 2006

sketch15052006
New sketchblog over at retrosuper.blogspot.com.

Now I know what the three (3) readers, including myself by the way, are thinking: “why the fuck does this idiot need another blog and why did he give it the same name as it’s portfolio?”. To which I answer, “cause I latch on to names due to not being very creative” and “cause I like having things”.

So the idea here is, I do a sketch (hopefully) each day, and it winds up there and final stuff goes here..something to that effect.

Star Wars
It may come as a surprise to some people, but it took me a very long time to get into Star Wars. Dunno why, I guess growing up on a diet of Marvel comics made me more biased towards earth based adventures.

Now though, I can’t get enough of these films, maybe not so much eps one and two, but 3-6 are just brilliant. the fight on the lava planet in Revenge of the Sith is visualy magnificent, in fact I can honestly say that Sith is probably the best looking film I have ever seen, from the design of the sets, props and costumes to the cg and the overall look of the film, everything just clicks in my head as being perfect.
