One Zombie in a Billion

First attempt at vector tracing using the wacom in illustrator, the subject is of course Bub from Day of the Dead, pretty happy with how this turned out, thinking of doing a series of zombie vectors for badges or stickers.

Well it’s been a slow couple of weeks, kinda needed my free time to unwind as things have been getting pretty hectic at work, we’re working on a major redesign of one of the main websites. Learning asp.net on the fly is not my idea of a good time. Next project should be fun though, it’s streaming video, I’ve just ordered a copy of Adobe Production Studio Premium and can’t wait to get stuck into that!

Outside of work, I’ve been doing bits and pieces, learning about animation from Richard William’s brilliant book “The Animator’s Survival Kit”, traditional animation has really piqued my interest right now, John Kricfalusi’s blog is a wonderful well of information on the subject.

Finally got around to checking out Serenity and shortly after that, Firefly. Both are fantastic, Whedon has crafted some brilliant characters here, I especially love the way he bucks a lot of the sci-fi and western conventions, well worth checking out.
Of course that turns into a renewed fascination with Buffy, slowly picking up the series on dvd, god I love that show.

Still drawing, will upload some new stuff soon. Playing around with a few other ideas, this seems to be my deal, looking into too many different things at once that I end up getting nothing done.
