A Scanner Darkly

Trailer
Just watched the trailer for the film adaption of Phil K Dick’s novel, ‘A Scanner Darkly’. The film stars Keanu Reeves, Winonna Ryder, Woody Harrelson and Robert Downey Jr in a tale of split personalities and drug abuse.
I’ve yet to read the book, but the story sounds great and the method of filming is spectacular.
The studio filmed the actors digitally, then using a proprietary piece of software called ‘Rotoshop’ to vector rotoscope each frame. The result looks phenomenal and captures the nuance of movement that sometimes animation can lose (though it does depend on who’s animating a feature), mixed with some wonderfully detailed backgrounds by graphic novel artists creates a real visual treat.
I’ll be watching out for it for sure.

Another 24 hour nightmare of terror…

Source:Fangoria
Well the franchise at least, since it’s a remake of the first we’ll more than likely need to wait for the second before the big dude makes his appearance. Though knowing today’s studios he’ll be in there somewhere.
Projected date is 13th of October 2006, so I’m looking forward to that, always been a big fan of horror movies, with Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street and Romero …of the Dead series being my favourites..now how long do I need to wait for a new Elm street flick?

Coloured version of a pic I drew a few days ago. Playing around with a few new methods of colouring, not too happy with the photo in the bg, but it was the only appropriate one I could find on disk.
