Hellboy (new art)

August 28 2005

Something I did last Saturday, took about 15 minutes from start to finish, with a posca marker and a .5 Pilot technical pen.

Hey I remember this place

August 20 2005

Been a busy few weeks, between the day job, working on side projects, working out what I wanna do in life and gasp a budding social life, I’ve had little to no time to chronicle these events (well that’s a lie, but I kinda like sleeping in my free time).

So lets see, went to a gallery opening at Analogue featuring the work of Matt Sewell, with my new friend Steph, which was pretty impressive, in fact I was so inspired I picked up a canvas the next day and have been sketching down some ideas for paintings, I have 3 set in stone with one being the basis for a series. Generally working on drawing painting a lot lately, I appear to be getting better, though I have my moments current ratio is one piece I like to 2 piece of shit drawings!

May I also mention my undying love for Posca paint markers. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up. (no matter what people say Ferris Buller is a good movie!)

On Wednesday I went to see “Wah-Wah” the directorial debut of Richard E. Grant, the man himself was in attendance along with the cast to introduce the film, it was pretty decent, some characters were maybe not as fleshed out as much as they could have been, but I get the feeling that time was a big factor in this film. Overall some really good performances and Gabriel Byrne as Ralphie’s (Richard it’s autobiographical) father was fantastic.

Lots of things on my mind at the moment, working through my music collection, because I’m sad and on holiday at the moment, I’ve embarked on a spreadsheet of albums I own, albums I have in digital formats and albums I want to get. The end result is owning all of these in cd form.
Made a start on it with Led Zeppelin, Pixies and Jeff Buckley, had their albums in digital forever and due to everyone having completed their cd collections they were all on sale for £4.99 each. Next up are Blondie, The Clash, The Who and Joy Division. They’re all linked to me other spreadsheet working out my wages and such, as I plan to get my own place in the near future, which while still daunting, is something I feel I’m very much read to do.

Think that covers everything going down in me life right now, well the parts I’m comfortable talking on here about anyway.
