It’s a Shame(New art)

new art- its a shame
One thing I love about digital only drawing, is not running out of ink when doing something like this.

life auditing

July 25 2005

For the past month I’ve been running through things, figuring out where I’m going and how I’m going to get there. Which is a hell of an undertaking, considering I feel like I’ve been moving at a snail’s pace, whilst others fly by with their media based futures set in stone or depending on the ever changing multimedia climate in jelly or blamonge.

However, I do have just under 18 months experience of professional web development now, which as many of our fallen web brethren know is about the life span of a dotcom bubble corporation.

Okay, I’m cutting the metaphorical crap now as it’s making me sound like an idiot. I’ve been focusing a lot lately on photography, it’s something that I’ve been told be a few people now that I have a natural talent for and as such I reckon that maybe I should try to hone that as it could be a viable springboard for me into magazines/design or even cinema.

Another big ass decision for me was to do with comics. It’s a tough one, for the longest time I’ve been telling myself, “it’s all I want to do” but as time passes I notice myself less and less focused on drawing and more focused on design and even writing. So I reckon I’m gonna let the sun set on that dream.

As for the writing, I have 2-3 ideas at the moment for tv series, one is a semi-western mini series, the other is animated with the final being a comedy idea. I’ve been plotting out the first and I’m pretty happy with where it’s going so I may speak to some more media minded friends of mine about the next step with that.

So things are looking pretty clear for the first time in years really.

  • Bloc Party – ‘Silent Alarm’
  • Hard-Fi –’Stars Of CCTV’

  • The Magic Numbers – ‘The Magic Numbers’
  • Coldplay – ‘X&Y’

Tough choice this year, Bloc Party and Maximo Park would be the stand outs for me right now, however I’ve been listening to a lot of The Go! Team lately and they’re really superb.

I’m gonna ignore that Kaiser Cheifs are the odds on favourite.
